I love the smell of fall in NYC. The smell of burning wood wafting through the air. I can almost smell the fear emanating from the foliage as it prepares to fall off thinning branches. It’s as if every canopy of every building is equipped with pine-tree air fresheners. And it’s all made better by the crispness of the air - not yet the bitterness it is destined to become. Just a nice, steady chill. Give me my hat and my hoodie, and watch me take a deep breath…
